Ballina – a coastal town set on the northern shore of the Richmond river, New South Wales, Australia, is located on the Pacific Highway and is fast becoming a much sought after area for real estate. The Richmond River lighthouse, which was first constructed in 1866 and replaced in 1879 is still on active duty and visitors have access to the site of the lighthouse tower.
